if there is one thing in this world that gives me hope
that gives me life
that gives me the ability to rise each morning and take one more breath

it is the 100%-for-sure-guarantee that i am fully and continually capable of loving

it is perhaps one of the rare and only possessions i can own

despite the shittiest of circumstances
the horrors of human suffering
and the terrific losses daily rent upon the souls of this earth

i cannot lose hope

i can love

that is my hope

either way...

i am certain that the kindest and most powerful way to light up this world
no matter the circumstantial doings or goings-on

is to fully be yourlovingself

and do that

i asked him openly, "do we need resistance?"

he said, "that's a really good question."

i continued, "isn't the inherent relationship between our physical bodies and the earth just another form of resistance?

...and don't we need that resistance?"

he asked, "what would happen if that resistance wasn't there?"

"we would fall," i replied.

"fall...relative to...what?"

"yes...i suppose 'fall' wouldn't be accurate without an earth, would it? float?"

he nodded, "float. yes...probably, float."

"but then what? what's the point of having this body then? don't we need this earth to stand on?
to give some purpose to our physical existence? to our humanity?"

his voice was like freedom: "the question is...do we really need something to stand on?"

so profound was this question, that i am still contemplating it today.

"do we really need something to stand on?"



hmm.

the relationships that challenge and transform us the most
are the ones we have with ourselves.

how we treat ourselves and regard ourselves
is of the utmost importance to us

when we allow ourselves to realize it.
